The NOAA Leadership Training Program is a five day course specifically for new supervisors. The course is designed to teach new supervisors what they can do to motivate their work groups to meet new challenges.
Participants learn the varied roles they play as first line supervisors and what their responsibilities are in working with employees of all types.
This course is designed to promote self-understanding and to develop insights into interpersonal communications, motivation, delegation, and conflict management within an organization.
Topics include: Transition to Supervision Introduction to Situational Leadership Becoming an Assertive Communicator and Dynamic Listener Creating a Motivating Work Place Managing Employee Performance Conflict Management Teamwork: It Takes All Types

How do I register for a class?
To register for a class given at the SSMC Complex, use the NOAA Learning Center. In accordance with Federal law, all training requires supervisor approval. Please obtain supervisor approval prior to requesting training. You will receive confirmation from the NOAA Training Staff once your registration has been processed.
