NOAA Federal Employees Viewpoint Survey Results - The results of NOAA's employee survey for 2012 are now available.
UPDATE for Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) FINALISTS: Effective 3/27/13, NOAA implemented a NOAA-wide hiring freeze for all types of civilian appointments in all funding programs. We do not anticipate being able to advertise or fill any PMF vacancies until the freeze ends. If and when we are able to fill PMF vacancies, we will advertise available positions on OPM's Talent Acquisition System (TAS). Thank you for your interest in PMF opportunities with NOAA. Updated information will be posted on the PMF Finalists web page.
2013 Pay Rate Increase - The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) released the following three Chief Human Capital Officers' Council (CHCOC) transmittals concerning an update to the 2013 pay rate increase. Effective immediately, annual salaries under the General Schedule (GS) and non-GS statutory pay schedules (alternative personnel systems) will not increase by 0.5% as planned. The continued pay freeze on pay adjustments has now been extended through December 31, 2013.

VERA/VSIP - In January, NOAA received authority from the Office of Personnel Management to participate in both the Voluntary Early Retirement Authority (VERA) and the Voluntary Separation Incentive Payments (VSIP)programs, effective through December 31, 2012. The VERA/VSIP authorities will allow NOAA flexibility in managing the organizationto support existing and emerging mission-critical needs.

Thrift Savings Plan Deferral - The 2013 Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) Elective Deferral Limit will change to $17,500 for regular TSP contributions and will remain at $5,500 for TSP Catch-Up Contributions (TSP CUCs). Read more about it here.
