How to create you eMail signature in Thunderbird

First thing to do is create your signature. Open MSWord, type the text for your signature.

Example:
Joe Q. Public
NOAA's Workforce Management Office
301.713.1234

Save this document as a .txt file (not a Word .doc)
Save as a Text File, not as a Word Doc file screen shot

Open your Thunderbird email. Just above your Inbox, click on your name:
Click on your name in the email screen shot

Choose View settings for this account:
Choose View Account Settings screen shot

Make sure you have the correct location for your email signature file:
Designating your signature file location screen shot

Now, open a Write email window and see if your new signature shows up at the bottom of your email. If it does not, check to see if you named your Word file as plain text (.txt).
