Healthy employees and healthy work environments are important
to the Department of Commerce. Good relationships at work, and
at home, allow employees to focus on the tasks at hand and to
accomplish more. If difficulties occur, professional counselors
are available through the Employee Assistance Program to provide
guidance and support to employees and their families.
The
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a counseling service offered
to Department of Commerce employees. It is administered
by the Ceridian Corporation, one of the most experienced EAP
providers in the country. Through this program employees are
offered , at no charge, a minimum of three, but not more than
four counseling sessions. Department of Commerce employees can

Who Is Eligible:
Employees of the Department of Commerce are eligible for participation
in this program. Family members, such as a spouse, dependent
children and other persons living in the same house and/or
who receive at least half their support from the employee,
are also qualified for these services.

How To Contact The EAP:
You or your eligible family members may contact the EAP directly
twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. All calls to the
EAP are confidential. The number to contact is (toll free)
1-877-234-5151, or, for the hearing impaired, TDD 1-800-999-3004.
A Ceridian representative will answer your call and ask for
such information as your name, organization, address and phone
number, job title, length of service, and a brief description
of the problem. Shortly thereafter, a trained counselor will
contact you.
