MEMORANDUM FOR: NOAA Rating Officials

SUBJECT: Mandatory Performance Management Training

On an annual basis, Rating Officials who have employees under the 5-Level Performance Management System are required to take training on all aspects of the System. As such, Department has mandated that all 5-Level managers and supervisors complete the online training course in Commerce Learning Center (CLC) entitled "Building Result-Oriented Performance Plans" by Friday, February 17, 2012. The training covers how to create performance plans that incorporate three key criteria: alignment (Module 1), results-focus (Module 2), and credible measures (Module 3). Each module is approximately 17 minutes in length. The CLC can be assessed by visiting: http://learning.doc.gov/index.htm.
